There is a community calendar from Selkirk College filled with a variety of continuing education opportunities. Catalogs are released every season. The courses are well-categorized. So I signed up for a range of courses: ring making, memoir writing, using social media for businesses, writers in a digital age, and finally, Meditation 101. Only 2 of these classes had enough students to run them.
The cancellations were disappointing, but I was delighted by my 9 class meditation for facilitators enrollment which started December 30th, 2024.
I learned about the power of breath work. I learned how important sitting properly can aid in your concentration, I learned about chakras, the mind, & transcendentalism.

I was able to write my own meditation 🧘♂️ practice for the class and deliver it. This went well enough for me as to confirm that I’m definitely not the facilitator type. All in all, this course was a 5 gold star worthy experience.
It imbued me with a greater sense of awareness, sovereignty, and the confidence that no matter how disappointing a piece of news might be, I can always go back to my breath.
When I started the class, I was unaware I had a spreading disease in my body. I’d like to think a practice has the power to stave off metastasis. Unfortunately, my personal practice is weak and I can’t lock into it without bouncing thoughts on things I have to do instead.
I’m going to book a nice hotel in Kelowna for the test on May 1st. More retail therapy. I have an idea for 9 dresses of the summer. It’s indulgent, but as with my last post, scarcity is going to kill me, I may as well burn through some of my inheritance.
